Five complex stories of five extraordinary women dramatically intertwine…
Across one long night, in the shadows of an imagined city, five complex stories of five extraordinary women dramatically intertwine through a series of exhilarating interactions that will ultimately leave only two women standing…
An Outsider seeks redemption, a Vigilante roams the streets, a Sociopath collects morbid snapshots, an Innocent drifts aimlessly and a Seductress expertly extracts diverse emotions from her prey…
Like a Thief in the Night weaves five edgy female contemporary circus and theatre performers into a unique projected landscape with an original soundscape, and promises to be a dynamic, dark, atmospheric and visually impactful work.
This production will combine elements of world-class contemporary circus with physical theatre, black humour, clown, classic tease, martial arts and intense theatricality. Without a single word spoken, Damage communicates through the universal language of the body, exploring universal themes of life, love, ethics and what it means to be human.
Wilde Applause is currently seeking investors and additional funding to bring this highly charged, Neo-Noir inspired Narrative Circus work to life.
In order to complete this stunning and innovative Australian work, Wilde Applause needs additional funding.
To date, Like a Thief in the Night has completed two creative development phases. We are seeking additional funding and investors for phases 3, 4 & 5 of its development.
Funded by Wilde Applause, this phase saw the development of the conceptual framework and the creation of the first draft of the script.
Funded by a Freshground residency at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts this phase saw the finalisation of the second draft of the script and commencement of the creative development of the work’s unique soundscape, landscape, preliminary LX design and marketing/ pitch collateral
Phase 3 will see the creation of the unique soundscape and projected urban landscape that the world of Damage will be set within.
Phase 4 will see the creative team test Damage on the floor with performers.
Phase 5 will see us complete rehearsals in order to tour Damage to theatres and venues nationally and internationally.
If you are interested in helping us bring this exciting and edgy work to fruition please let us know – we would love to hear from you.
